FSSAI license registration depends on the category, turnover and size of the business.
The FSSAI basic registration is for FBOs who have registered under small-scale industries and startups and have an annual income of less than Rs 12 lakh. Basic registration under FSSAI can be upgraded as per the productivity graph of the FBO.
The FSSAI state license is for FBOs who have registered under medium-scale industries and have an annual income of less than Rs 20 crore. The state license can be also implemented as a central license which is dependent upon the performance graph of the productivity.
The FSSAI Central license is for FBOs which has a large business and the annual income of the industry is more than Rs 20 crore.
As operations scale up and turnover reaches Rs. 12 lakh bar, the basic registration will need to be upgraded to state license.
